Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix aka HP5

Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix was a book I had read a few years ago. I own all the other books and movies to date and wanted to see how David Yates, a director I had never watched, would bring a group I cared so much about to the screen in the darkest of the movies to date.

While I will always have a deep affinity for the first movie, I have the same issue with Lord of the Rings, (Fellowship is my favorite) HP5 is a super strong outing for franchise.

The plot is that while Dumbledore and Harry believe Voldermort is alive and plotting the death of all, the Ministry of Magic is deliberately hiding their heads in the sand and overtly keeping all insistence to the contrary out of the news. This enables The Death Eaters, Voldermorts Army, to carry out their masters wishes unopposed.

To counter this Dumbledore starts the Order of the Phoenix, a small group dedicated to fighting and gathering information against Voldermort in society and Harry begins Dumbledores Army at Hogwarts teaching students how to fight against the Dark Arts.

The acting is again top notch by all characters and especially Daniel Radcliffe who is maturing nicely with Potter. Chris Columbus who directed the first two movies should get some sort of oscar for his innate ability to cast actors that will last for seven movie and ten year. Even the older cast playing teachers look amazingly well.

It is unavoidable to miss this movie in some medium or another over the next few years. Take the plunge and see it in the theaters while you can.
